The District administers an open burning program which covers the Monterey, San Benito and Santa Cruz Counties. The District has adopted local rules which regulate several kinds of burning activities, including the burning of agricultural waste, standing vegetation, household rubbish and yard waste. You can obtain copies of the District's rules from the Internet by looking under the "Rules and Regulations" main page.
